At 4:53 PM County communications alerted Kimberton (61) for an appliance fire on Hickory Grove Road in East Vincent Twp. The Deputy & Assistant Chief from the Ridge Fire (62) station were the first to arrive and reported fire from the dishwasher and the home charged with smoke. An engine from Station 62 (Ridge Fire) was added to the alarm with manpower running short. The Ridge Chief's hit the fire with a dry power extinguisher prior to the fire apparatus arrival.
